Richard Bothel has a significant record of success as a writer, teacher, administrator, corporate manager, entrepreneur, speaker and outdoor sportsman. His area of special interest is experiential learning in the outdoors. He is nationally recognized in education and business. His awards include the Master Teacher Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development, the prestigious Grassroots award from the United States Distance Learning Association and several All-STARS awards from the Xerox Corporation. Along with his many academic publications, his writing has appeared in many national magazines. He has received three academic Awards of Excellence from Ball State University and was both an Indiana Bell and AT&T fellow. Toastmasters International awarded him their highest designation, Distinguished Toastmaster. His education includes a B.S. in Secondary Education from Butler University, Indianapolis, IN and a M.S. in Information Communication Science, M.A. in Adult Education, and an Ed.D. in Ad and Community Education w/ ICS all from Ball State University, Muncie, IN. He is a USCG Captain with Master's License Certification.
