Richard Thomas Bothel

Dr. Richard Bothel has been responsible for the development and delivery
of international programs for a number of organizations.
While at Lamar University, he was the lead consultant for the creation of the Division of Continuing Education and Research (Technology Transfer) at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was part of a team from the Texas International Educational Consortium creating a new university in the Kingdom.
As UNCP Associate
Provost for Outreach he worked to support international programs developed
by the University' s International Centers and promotes community and economic
interactions with foreign counties. In 2002, the Regional Center supported
by the North Carolina Secretary of State and North Carolina Trade Center
spearheaded "Export Connections," an interactive conference
to connect local North Carolina to opportunities throughout the world.
Richard Bothel supported Troy State University (TSU) Distance Learning
programs including its 50 learning centers throughout the world. He also
had the responsible for learning sites at a variety of military bases
and traveled to Germany to support the close-out of the TSU European programs.
Dr. Bothel had oversight of continuing education and for-credit courses
for the United States Sport Academy with their international programs
in 42 countries. Richard traveled to Korea on several occasions to support
the Academy's doctoral program with professors at leading Korean Universities
and key business executives from companies such as Daewoo. He was also
responsible for the Academy's ESL programs.
